The suite was perfect for us. It had a lovely four poster bed. i liked that everything i needed was available for a comfortable break. my family enjoyed the beautiful grounds, it was nice to walk around them. the spa was gorgeous too, and so relaxing.
the exterior lights shone into my room at night, and a faint buzzing sound kept me awake.

historic design christmas decorations unfriendly team dirty towels
the building has a historic, almost tudor-like design. it stands on expansive grounds including a golf course! christmas decorations looked classy and understated.
some team members were not friendly on arrival! the room was not really clean. i noticed some hair and dirty towels.

The spa facilities provided a welcome treat. I made full use of these facilities. The self-service buffet breakfast offered plenty of variety. The bedrooms were very spacious with a comfortable bed.

The grounds were well kept and picturesque.
The carpets seemed tired and dated. The décor did not match the building's exterior, a detail I noticed immediately. It looked like they need a revamp (or maybe even two).

the hotel grounds are quite lovely. i enjoyed the peaceful garden areas. staff members were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay, which i appreciated. the spa facilities impressed me, and i found the public rooms to have a grand character.
the breakfast selection seemed limited. there was no cheese or charcuterie, and the yogurt options were few. the swimming pool access was restricted for my teenager, excluding mornings and evenings. this meant we couldn't use the outdoor pool and hot tub together, a bit disappointing. i found a few maintenance issues such as a threadbare carpet near the bathroom.
