the staff was friendly, that met my expectations.
i was NOT happy about the bathroom. it felt VERY dated. the wallpaper was peeling, and the general look was shabby. i thought THIS hotel was rated five stars, but i have stayed in better four-star hotels.

The staff were very great. I thought the dog biscuits given on arrival were a nice touch. complimentary happy birthday chocolates were in the room. the breakfast was excellent and had good choice.

The staff were very attentive, greeting us warmly upon arrival. The room was well kept and clean. I liked that the hotel served a great breakfast each morning, with many options available. The pool was a welcome treat.
The hotel wifi was intermittent in some areas of the hotel.

the evening meal i had there was good. it overlooked the river clyde with shipping traffic.
i booked months ago, expecting rooms like the website photos. i was directed to a modern spar wing some distance from the main building. the rooms were comfortable but quite plain. i was disappointed by the mismatch of the offer and the room i was given.
