Cavern Resort & Spa has been owned and operated by the same family since 1941. The daily room rate includes three meals, served as a set menu for breakfast and dinner and a buffet-style light lunch. amazing mountain escape!

The location is superb, nestled right in the mountains with various hiking trails available. the food impressed me. Every meal was a delicious experience. i found the staff to be great. the spa treatments were so good. i got a superb massage.

i did notice the public areas could use a little updating, they are pretty basic.

the hotel provides convenient access to northern Drakensberg, with roads ensuring easy travel despite the mountain terrain.. several hiking trails start right from the hotel grounds, suitable for various fitness levels.

our family room opened directly onto a lovely garden near the mountains. it featured a terrace offering awesome views. inside, the bathroom was very nice, and the bed was huge and really comfortable.

the dining experience includes free coffee, tea, and water available at all meals. the quality of all meals was really good. drinks were offered at very reasonable prices, rare for a resort of this quality.
