BAD MOOS - AQUA SPA RESORT, Sexten

Bad Moos - Aqua Spa Resort is the only hotel in South Tyrol holding a curing license for wellness treatments, with direct access to healing sulphur spring waters drawn from the site since the 1700s. The spa covers 2,500 square metres and includes an indoor pool, an outdoor heated pool with mountain views, a children's pool, a hot tub, and multiple saunas such as the Valentine sauna with a view of the local church. Guests can book medical treatments, sulphur baths, mud baths, or massages, and attend the daily 'aromatic dances' performed by the sauna team Charlie and Francesca.

The hotel sits directly opposite the Croda Rossa cable car, offering ski-to-door access and on-site ski rentals with boot warmers in the locker room. Guests receive a free bus pass for the Drei Zinnen ski area, and the hotel's own outdoor guides lead snowshoe trips and other excursions. In summer, the location provides walking access to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and gentle paths through forests and pastures.

The restaurant complex is housed in buildings dating from the 14th and 17th centuries, with wooden décor and a focus on high-quality regional cuisine. Meals are served as a buffet breakfast with fresh vegetable juices and dry fruits, a buffet antipasto, and a four-course dinner with table service. The bar, run by Ferdinando, serves cocktails and coffee, and the sommelier David offers a wine list of mostly local, reasonably priced wines.

All rooms offer panoramic views of the Dolomites from private balconies, with some rooms featuring real fires and modern amenities such as satellite TV. Guests can choose between rooms in the main hotel, the older cabin-style building (connected by an underground passage), or the more affordable residence across the street. The junior suites and deluxe double rooms are spacious, with clean, contemporary furnishings and good storage.

The hotel provides a children's pool, a ski school, and a dedicated area for sledging, with ski and sledge rentals available on site. Pets are welcome, and the property includes a chapel, a sun terrace, and a garden for outdoor play. The family-run atmosphere is reflected in the staff's attentive service, with nightly entertainment in the bar and daily activities such as the sauna dance sessions.
